University of Houston coach Tom Herman said the Cougars plan to use the next 3 ½ weeks to get healthy.
The Cougars will take off the next four days before resuming workouts for the Dec. 31 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl against Florida State.
Herman said there is “a really good chance” leading rusher Kenneth Farrow will be back after missing the last two games with a high ankle sprain. Cornerback Howard Wilson, who missed the last 10 games with a knee injury, could also return.
“I’ll be 100 percent for the bowl,” said Farrow, who needs 51 yards for his second consecutive 1,000-yard season.
The grind has caught up with the already injury-depleted Cougars, who will enjoy their first off-week since Week 3 of the season.
“It will be good to see these guys rested and fresh,” Herman said. “This was a rugged, rugged 13-game season we just finished. We have to get healthy. We better be at our freshest if we are going to have a chance against Florida State.”
